Spring rundown

The end of the Athletics season of sport was full of gritting performances in less than ideal weather, and joyful experiences all around.

HWDSB had an amazing performance in secondary track and field with over 30 athletes from our schools advancing to OFSAA with 19 top 10 finishers! Both soccer championships (Tier 1 & 2) finished in stormy weather showing heart and determination by all the finalists with Ancaster HS winning both girls and boys Tier 1, Sherwood Boys winning Tier 2 and Orchard Park SS Girls taking home gold in Tier 2.  We crowned a new Junior boys football Champion – Waterdown DHS, who have been having a great year overall!

Access Athletics welcomed over 600 athletes from across our Board participating in modified games and hosted by the amazing Nora Frances Henderson SS leadership team!

Elementary Track and Field provided moments of joy throughout every day of competition. Athletes showed their heart and efforts in all events, with over 5500 students competing over 7 days of meets.

A huge thank you to all of our coaches, administrators and community for all of your efforts and support! We also want to thank our Athletics volunteers, host schools, and our Athletic staff for making these events happen!
