HWDSB OFSAA BOUND

TRACK & FIELD:

Over fifty athletes from the HWDSB & member schools have qualified for the OFSAA track and field Championships June 8-10 in Ottawa.  

Leading the contingent are the DVSS Gryphons with 13 athletes and title holders- Gabby Mohart in the NG 80m hurdles, Tristan Pearson-Whear in the NB 300m hurdles and Alma Bauer in the NG pole vault. Ancaster has three winners as well in Erika Gordon in the JG 1500m and both their 4 by 400m teams swept to victory.  Hamilton also proved to be a 3KM powerhouse with Marley Hargreave of Westdale, Ben Keller of Westdale and Shakir Saleh of Bernie Custis racing to victory.  Guido de Bres’ Sophia VanRaalte took the gold in JG triple jump. Other relay teams moving forward include the NG 4 by 100m team from DVSS, the SB 4 by 100m team from Ancaster and the OG 4 by 400m team from Westdale.  In all, 9 HWDSB schools are being represented at the Championships.

RUGBY:
Representing SOSSA for the Boy’s is Saltfleet DHS.

SOCCER:
The Hamilton DCH Knights advance in both Girls’ & Boys’ A division.  The Ancaster Girls are going for gooooooald in AAA Soccer.

TENNIS: Several student athletes from across HWDSB are smashing it at Tennis this week already!
