Orchard Park wins senior boys division-II football crown over Henderson

2016-17 Division-II Senior Boys Football Champions: Orchard Park Patriots

HAMILTON (November 3, 2016) –   Orchard Park secondary’s Austin Krasulja scored two touchdowns as the Patriots captured the Hamilton public school board’s senior boys division-II football championship 17-9 over the Nora Frances Henderson Huskies on Thursday at McMaster.

Krasulja rushed for 222-yards in the championship win to go along with his two touchdowns. He opened the scoring for the Patriots just 34 seconds into the game on a 77-yard touchdown run and later added another touchdown to put Orchard Park up 14-0 at the half.

Nora Frances Henderson responded in the third quarter as Robbie Brewer connected on a 23-yard field goal while Tijan Saah posted a one-yard run in the fourth quarter to put the score at 14-9 for Orchard Park.  

Orchard Park’s Devin Dallas iced the game with just a minute remaining converting an 11-yard field goal to cap the scoring at 17-9 in favour of the Patriots.

Henderson’s top player in the game was Tijan Saah who rushed for 110 yards while Ruohullah Najibullah tallied 59 yards rushing in the loss.

The game’s top receiver was Subhan Malik who made two receptions for 37 yards.

Orchard Park finished the year 7-0 notching a perfect season.  The championship marks the school’s fourth senior football title with their last coming in 2011-12 in division-I.   Last year the Patriots fell 22-16 to Ancaster High School in the division-II championship.
