Featured Athlete of the Week – Tyler Moffat – Nora Henderson

At 6 foot 5 inches tall and 250 pounds Tyler Moffat looks every bit the part of the BIG man desired by football and basketball coaches. However, Tyler’s greatest asset is his ability to lead. Last year, he sustained a season ending knee injury in football that would see him sidelined for the basketball season as well. Tyler decided to take on the challenge of coaching the senior boys’ basketball team and did an excellent job. His greatest learning, “positive communication yields the best results”. He has taken that experience and used it this season as quarterback of the Huskies football team and has lead them to a season with a winning record and a chance to play in the Division 2 Championship. He stays calm in the huddle and gives positive encouragement to his teammates even after a bad play. His teammates respond by giving their best effort play in and play out. Tyler enjoys working in the team atmosphere and values the friendships that develop from playing on school teams.
