Featured Athlete of the Week – Roman Colero – Sir John A. Macdonald

Roman Calero is a well rounded student-athlete who possesses not only a high level of athletic ability, but also a charm and down to earth personality which endears him to his teammates, friends and teachers. Roman demonstrates positive citizenship both within the school community and athletic environment. He has positive relationships with his teammates and coaches, and is a leader both on and off of the basketball court and football field. As a basketball and football player Roman is a natural competitor and his desire to win is second to none. He is always the first player to come to practice and one of the last players to leave. One of Roman’s strongest traits is his willingness to learn and to be coached. He listens intently, works hard and strives to apply everything he learns in practice. Roman has developed strong bonds with his teammates and coaches which will last well beyond his career at SJAM. His basketball coach, Abdullahi Abdi states, “He has taught me more than I probably taught him.”
