One step away; Hamilton secondary school teams advance to SOSSA championships

HAMILTON (February 23, 2015) – The winter secondary sport season is culminating with teams advancing past city finals and taking the next step to the Southern Ontario Secondary School (SOSSA) championships which take place February 24 and 25 throughout the region.

If successful at this level, schools will advance them to provincial championships conducted by OFSAA (Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations) which are slated for the second week of March.

Boys Hockey
AAA: Waterdown DHS (Feb 24 @ Value Health and Wellness Centre, Port Colborne, Ont.)
A/AA: Sir Winston Churchill SS (Feb. 24 @ Haldimand County Caledonia Centre, Caledonia, Ont)

Girls Hockey
AAA: Waterdown DHS (Feb 24 @ Thorold Arena, Thorold, Ont.)

Girls Volleyball
Senior -’AAA’: Westdale SS (Feb 25 @ Govener Simcoe SS, St. Catharines, Ont.)
