FOOTBALL: MacNab repeats as city champion; moves on to SOSSA

HAMILTON (November 9, 2017) – The Sir Allan MacNab Lions repeated as Hamilton public high school Division-I senior football champions on Thursday earning a 13-12 come-from-behind victory over the Westmount Wildcats at McMaster University.

With just under three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, third-year quarterback Quincy Vaughn connected with receiver Eric Faubert near the back of the end zone to put the Lions out in front.

Sir Allan MacNab would then go on to hold on as Westmount would turnover the ball on their remaining three drives to give the Lions their second straight championship and third in four seasons.

Sir Allan McNab will now host McKinnon Park in the SOSSA West semifinal game on Wednesday, November 15 at Ron Joyce Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:00pm.The winner of that game moves on to the SOSSA Championship held one week later (November 21) – also at Ron Joyce Stadium on campus at McMaster University.
