2015-16 HWIAC Girls Slo-Pitch Champions: Ancaster Royals
HAMILTON (June 1, 2016) – The Ancaster Royals captured their first ever Hamilton public school board girls slo-pitch title on Wednesday knocking off Westmount 8-4 at Turner Park in Hamilton.

Ancaster cruised through the two-day tournament rolling to a perfect 4-0 record in pool play before disposing of Delta in the quarterfinals. That followed with an impressive 20-4 win over Hamilton District Christian High School (HDCH) in the semifinal match before knocking off Westmount in the championship held Wednesday afternoon.

The event saw 13 schools compete in the championship with Waterdown and Sherwood joining Ancaster as the only teams to finish pool play undefeated.

Sherwood would narrowly knock off Guido de Bres to qualify for the semifinals against Westmount while Waterdown would fall to HDCH. In semifinal play, Westmount dusted Sherwood 21-7 while the Royals beat HDCH.
