Dundas Valley, Guido de Bres earn top position at track & field

Hamilton (May 15, 2015) – Dundas Valley and Guido de Bres were the top schools as the Hamilton public school board held its annual secondary school Track & Field meet on Thursday at Mohawk Sports Park.

Dundas Valley rolled to a combined overall title tallying 772 points while Guido de Bres finished second with 745.5 points.  Ancaster High School placed third overall with 31.5 points.  Dundas Valley secured the girls overall team title with 396 points while Guido was second with 354.5 points.  Guido de Bres was able to secure the boys overall team title notching 391 points while Dundas Valley finished second with 376 points.

Jenna Smith of Dundas Valley was the only senior level athlete who scored three gold medals winning the 200, 400 and 400-metre hurdle events.  Other senior level event champions included:

  • Marissa Dubois of Westdale (5.24m – long jump; 10.36m – triple jump)
  • Brittany Robson of Sir Winston Churchill (9.38m – 4kg shotput; 25.63m – 12lb shotput)
  • Briana Wice of Saltfleet (31.93m – Javelin)
  • Fin Adams of Dundas Valle7 (5:04.07 – 1,500m steeple chase)
