Community Apartment Fire Letter

January 27, 2025

Dear Westdale Families,

We are deeply saddened by the devastating apartment fire that happened over the weekend.

We know the fire has affected many of our families, both directly and indirectly. We are thinking of those who live in the building or have ties to those impacted by this deeply tragic situation.

This type of rare and distressing event can be very worrisome and can impact each of us differently, with feelings of sadness, grief, helplessness, anxiety or anger.

Additionally, during this difficult time, our social worker was present at the school today and will be accessible in the upcoming days for students who might require additional support.

As parents, guardians and caregivers, you know your children best. We encourage you to talk to them about their well-being and provide an opportunity to share thoughts and questions. If you feel you might need additional tips or resources to support a conversation, please explore the links below.
