EQAO’S STUDENT ENGAGEMENT COMMITTEE IS SEEKING REPRESENTATIVES FOR THE
2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR

Do you want to impact Ontario students’ educational experience? Are you a student in an Ontario
school? Will you be in Grades 7–12 during the 2025–2026 school year?

If yes, please consider submitting an application to be a member of Education Quality and
Accountability Office (EQAO) Student Engagement Committee!

The Student Engagement Committee provides feedback and advice to help EQAO better understand
the experiences of students. For example, the 2023 -2024 committee members helped EQAO
improve the online assessments. Check out the following details:

What would I do as a member of the Student Engagement Committee?
The committee meets virtually three times per year. You would join 30 students from across the
province to share ideas about how EQAO can improve our programs. There are also small tasks to
complete between meetings.

Who is eligible to apply?
You can apply for this opportunity if you are a student at an Ontario school in grades 7–12 during the
2025-2026 school year. EQAO celebrates student voice across the province. When selecting committee members, a diverse
representation of students’ experiences and perspectives is of utmost importance.

How long would I serve on the committee?
Committee members’ terms will be one school year. EQAO is currently seeking applications from
students interested in joining the committee for the 2025-2026 school year.

How do I apply?
 Step 1: Discuss your interest in serving on this committee with your parent or guardian, and your
school principal or vice-principal. If you are selected to be on the committee, we will require
written permission from your parent or guardian, and support from your principal.
 Step 2: Please complete the application form found at https://forms.gle/yKAHaxEPtxjWD8VZ6
 You may submit your personal narrative in writing (250-350 words) or in video format (3-5
minutes).

When will I know if I have been selected?
The deadline for applications is June 2, 2025. EQAO will inform successful applicants by the end of
June 2025.
