Good afternoon, Westdale Community,

This message is to inform you that Hamiton Fire Services was on site this morning as there was a gas leak in the community.

As a precaution, we asked that classroom windows be temporarily shut while Fire Services investigated. Fire Services took air quality samples throughout the building, which confirmed that Westdale students and staff continued to be safe. There was no need to initiate a Shelter in Place. A Shelter in Place is initiated if there is an environmental hazard outside of the school that compromises the health and safety of students and staff within the school.
