Dear Westdale Families,

As we look forward to welcoming our students back to school on Wednesday, September 6th, we want to inform you of local road construction being completed on Marion Avenue. We have been informed that, at some point, pedestrian traffic will be temporarily closed on Marion Avenue. We will communicate this closure when we receive this information from the City of Hamilton. This construction will impact access to our parking lot off of Longwood Road as there will be a high volume of trucks in the area. Please be mindful that there may be traffic delays. Due to the nature of the work a higher volume of dust is to be expected.

For students being dropped off and/or picked up at school:

• It is preferred that students are dropped off on Longwood Road in the designated parking spots
• Should students be dropped off in the school parking lot, cars should briefly stop inside the entrance on Longwood Road and then proceed directly to the exit on Paradise Drive. Vehicles should not loop around the parking  spots near the ramp door entrance as this presents a traffic and safety issue for our students and staff
• Drop off is not permitted along Main Street or Paradise Drive. Cars stopping on these roadways present a traffic / safety issue as there are no designated stopping or parking zones
