Westdale Fire Evacuation

Dear Families,  

This letter is to inform you that today at Westdale Secondary School the fire alarm was activated. 

A minor fire was located and extinguished in a washroom. As per the HWDSB Fire Safety Plan, we evacuated and called 911. Hamilton Fire Department responded.  

Students and staff were outside for a brief period of time during the evacuation. We appreciated their patience as we awaited clearance to return indoors.

After an investigation, the Hamilton Fire department deemed our school building safe and gave us the authorization to return back into the building.
