Grade 12 Class of 2021 Drive-Through Celebration

As you can imagine planning a graduation during a global pandemic is very challenging and entails many strict Public Health protocols. At Westdale Secondary School we are working within the parameters laid out by Public Health to plan a safe, equitable, and celebratory way to honour the Class of 2021. While our preference would be to plan a traditional graduation and prom, our first priority must be safety. As a result, we will not be holding a traditional graduation or prom this year. All HWDSB high schools will be holding a virtual and/or walk/drive-thru celebration for the grade 12 students in the Class of 2021. Due to the uncertainty of the Public Health measures being enforced at this time we are planning for a virtual celebration and a Walk/Drive-Thru celebration model.

Please note that the following criteria will be in place for the Class of 2021 Celebration:

• No large gatherings permitted

• Virtual celebration posted in the Guidance Hub Page on Friday June 25^th at 6pm

• Walk/Drive-Thru celebration – Tuesday June 22^nd from 9am-6pm

• Online booking system will be used to sign up for a time which must be adhered (link to come with instructions and a map of the event)

• Valedictorian address will be part of the Virtual Celebration

• Awards will be distributed at the end of June or the beginning of July via mail

Students will receive the following from the school:

• Grad Gown and Cap

• Grad lawn sign

• Ceremony Program and Westdale Keepsakes
