Hello Sherwood Community,

As the Principal of Sherwood Secondary School, I am excited to be part of the rich tradition and the history of excellence that has characterized this east mountain community for the last 40 years.

As you may know, our school motto is Ever Progressing. What does this mean to us as students, educators and community supporters? It means that we are absolutely committed to providing the culture, tools and support to move each and every student forward on their learning path. In an environment that fosters respect for self and others, students will learn the skills, attitude and knowledge necessary for the future.
Our students are well known for their leadership, their academic ability and their athletic and artistic prowess. Sherwood Saints are renowned for their determination to be the best they can be and their spirit is energizing. You will see our students strive for excellence in our classrooms, on the fields, in the auditorium and in our community.

Our main goal is to come alongside our students and support them in their unique endeavours. At Sherwood we have an exemplary teaching and support staff who are effective in their subject area and passionate about the way they collaborate with students in the variety of curricular and co-curricular activities offered at our school.

Creative and innovative, our staff encourages students to take risks by providing them with opportunities to discover and expand their many strengths. Our unique and specialized programs in academics, athletics, the arts, technology and special education are some of the best in the city and by providing these experiences and opportunities; we will create a desire in all of our students for life-long learning.

Finally, our Sherwood parents and community partners are extremely supportive and caring. In so many ways, they are the voice of encouragement, urging and challenging our students to move ever forward in their educational pursuits. We count on them to work with us to provide a safe place and to reinforce the values and commitment we know it takes for our students to ever progress and to reach their full potential.
