Clubs – Student Athletic Council
Sherwood is happy to run a Student Athletic Council. This club meets every Tuesday at lunch in the Health Room and takes on the leadership of organizing such activities as the sale of Sherwood Spirit Wear, organizing the athletic banquet, hosting various city championships, organizing and being volunteer scorekeepers at Sherwood athletic events, etc. Anyone is welcome to join. You can even earn volunteer hours for your participation!

| Introductory Kinesiology PSK4U1
This course focuses on the study of human movement and of systems, factors, and principles involved in human development. Students will learn about the effects of physical activity on health and performance, the evolution of physical activity and sports, and the factors that influence an individual’s participation in physical activity. Units of study include sport and society, anatomy and physiology, biomechanics and motor development. The course prepares students for university programs in physical education, kinesiology, recreation, and sports Administration. Recreation and Healthy Active living Leadership – PLF4M
This course enables students to explore the benefits of lifelong participation in active recreation and healthy leisure and to develop the leadership and coordinating skills needed to plan, organize, and safely implement recreational events and other activities related to healthy, active living. Students will also learn how to promote the benefits of healthy, active living to others through mentoring and assisting them in making informed decisions that enhance their well-being. The course will prepare students for university programs in physical education and health and kinesiology and for college and university programs in recreation and leisure management, fitness and health promotion, and fitness leadership.

Health and Wellness SHSM
The Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) is a ministry-approved specialized diploma designation. The SHSM allows students to focus their learning on a specific economic sector while meeting the requirements of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. This career-focused program is designed to bundle courses, cooperative education experience, and sector specific certifications. The SHSM is designed to help students transition from high school into an apprenticeship, work place, college or university.
