 ACADEMIC INTEGRITY

Cheating on an exam will result in an automatic zero and may jeopardize your credit.  CELL PHONES and other ELECTRONIC DEVICES are NOT to be on or in sight in the examination rooms.

STUDENT COURTESY

Given the different lengths of final evaluations, students are reminded that they should leave the school quickly and quietly, or work quietly in the cafeteria upon the completion of their evaluations, in order to provide a quiet environment for the students who are still writing. Students are expected to remain in their exam room for a minimum of 60 minutes.

QUIET WEEK

January 18 – 24 is Quiet Week. There will be no extracurricular activities run by the school during this week to allow students time to prepare for exams and culminating activities.

MISSED EXAM POLICY

Students are expected to write examinations as per exam schedule. EXAMS WILL NOT BE RESCHEDULED DUE TO VACATIONS. The only exceptions allowed will be serious illness (verified by doctor’s note confirming the illness and the inability of the student to write) or a serious family emergency. Where possible, please contact your Vice Principal in advance.

SCHOOL CLOSURE

In the event that school is cancelled, the exam schedule will be moved forward one day. In the event of this happening, please refer to the school website.

How HWDSB Handles Inclement Weather

Friday, December 01, 2017

As winter approaches, we want to remind all HWDSB families about how we make the decision to cancel school and board operations. This is often a difficult call to make, and is made with the safety and security of our students and staff in mind.

As you are aware, our school recently underwent water testing for lead, in accordance with the provincial regulations (O.Reg 243/07). I am continuing to provide updates about results from further testing.

More test results have come in and I’m pleased to let you know that we are able to bring back into service another three drinking water fixtures. This bring our total to 16 drinking fixtures that have been returned to service.

Further Water Testing for Lead Results

Tuesday, November 21, 2017

As you are aware, our school recently underwent water testing for lead, in accordance with the provincial regulations (O.Reg 243/07). A letter was posted on our school website on November 7 saying there were potential concerns identified within the school and all drinking water fountains were being removed from service as a precaution.

HWDSB staff continued testing all drinking fixtures at the school and the results have started to return. No new concerns have been found. Our Health & Safety representatives have consulted with Public Health and I am pleased to let you know that we are able to put 9 drinking water fixtures back into service at this point. We hope to bring additional drinking water fixtures back into service as we receive our sample results.

Watch: Just One Wish Kindness Awards
The third annual Just One Wish Kindness Awards were held on July 1, 2017 in Gage Park during the It's Your Festival celebrations for Canada's 150th birthday. Organizers honoured 151 children (150 for Canada's birthday and one for good luck), age 4 to 18, from across HWDSB for their kindness. These children exemplify what is means to be Canadian and what Canada is all about. Congratulations to all!
