After School Literacy Prep Course

When:  Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:35 p.m. to 3:50 p.m. from Feburary 16, 2017 to March 23, 2017 (Excluding school holidays)

Where: Sir Allan MacNab Secondary School, Room 1013


§ Support that helps students develop skills required for success on the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test

§ Certifed teachers help with assigned work and activities

§ Students develop study habits and learn important literacy skills and how to prepare for tests

§ Gain skills and knowledge that builds confidence at school

§ FREE to all eligible students

How to Register:

§ Must be a student preparing to write the OSSLT in Spring 2017

§ Good attitude and attendance are expected.

§ Go online and complete easy registration form at:

§ Complete the registration prior to attending class

§ Child’s school principal must approve participation. You will only be notified if not eligible.

    Watch: Elementary Students Experience a Learning Day in the Arts
    Grades 7 and 8 students from Lake Avenue, Sir Wilfrid Laurier and W.H. Ballard visited the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts to do hands-on arts workshops with professional artists. Their inspiration was the Hamilton Children’s Charter of Rights, and they used four art forms (dance, drama, music and visual arts). The outing connected elementary students interested in the arts with schools offering a Specialist High Skills Majors in Arts and Culture.
