Water Testing @MacNab

Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers

Recently, our school underwent water testing for lead, in accordance with the provincial regulations (O.Reg 243/07). As a result of this testing, concerns were identified within the school. Preventative actions have been taken, which includes temporarily removing all drinking water fixtures from service.

As we undertake corrective measures, the board has provided our school with bottled water through the use of water coolers. Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle so they can refill their bottles as needed.

In addition to informing the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, our Health & Safety representatives have consulted with Public Health to ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken for the safety of students and staff. The drinking water fixtures will not return to service until the board and Public Health are both satisfied with the retesting results and that the corrective actions in place are adequate.

For more information and if you have any questions, please contact me at 905.383.3337.

Thank you,
Greg Clark
Principal

The third annual Just One Wish Kindness Awards were held on July 1, 2017 in Gage Park during the It's Your Festival celebrations for Canada's 150th birthday. Organizers honoured 151 children (150 for Canada's birthday and one for good luck), age 4 to 18, from across HWDSB for their kindness. These children exemplify what is means to be Canadian and what Canada is all about. Congratulations to all!
