Join HWDSB’s Human Rights and Equity Community Advisory Committee

HWDSB is accepting applications from students, parents/guardians/caregivers, and organization representatives to join the HWDSB Human Rights and Equity (HRE) Community Advisory Committee.

The HRE Community Advisory Committee meets monthly with a schedule determined by committee members. The committee provides advice, input and feedback using human rights, anti-racist and anti-oppressive approaches to support HWDSB’s commitment in identifying and addressing inequities in the education system and to create learning and working environment that are  inclusive, equitable and welcoming as outlined in its Equity Action Plan.

The committee is inviting applications from:

• students (two positions)
• parents/guardians/caregivers (1 position)
• a community representative from human rights and equity-focused organizations, alliances and/or networks (1 position)
