Labour Update for Secondary School Families

“Across Ontario, the unions representing employee groups in elementary and secondary schools are increasing their job action. We’re disappointed that talks continue to break down at the provincial negotiation tables. Locally, all of our HWDSB employees have a strong commitment to our students. We see this every day in their work to support student achievement, success, and well-being. We strongly urge provincial parties to reach a fair deal that honours education workers, supports learning in the classroom, and ensures entire school teams are available for our students. Our commitment during this time of uncertainty is to ensure that curriculum is delivered and that our students continue to learn in a safe environment. Our students deserve nothing less.”

Sincerely,
Alex Johnstone, Chair of the Board
