Hi All,

Pizza Days: Due to Labour Disruption, Wednesday Pizza Days will be cancelled beginning Wednesday February 5, 2020.  All pizza orders will continue for the month of January 2020.  Therefore, students will have to bring a lunch on Wednesday’s beginning Wednesday February 5, 2020 until further notice.

Kindergarten Child Vision Screening will take place on  Thursday January 16, 2020.  Information will be sent home next week.

Community Police Officer will be talking to our Grades 6, 7, and 8 students about the positives and negatives concerning Social Media use.  This will take place on Tuesday January 14, 2020.

Sherwood Secondary is hosting an information night for Grade 8 Students Option Sheet Night January 16, 2020: More information can be found here: Sherwood – Option Sheet Nights 2020

Mohawk Nursing Program and our School will be partnering together to support our students to enhance their positive social skills during recess, called active recess training.  We will begin on Friday January 17 and the Nursing Students will come every Friday thereafter for their second semester.

R.A. Riddell Sport Academy: The R.A. Riddell Sport Academy is currently accepting applications.  Our program consists of two specialized programs within our middle school.

  1. High Potential Program – Grade 7 and Grade 8
  2. Basketball Program – Grade 6, 7, and 8

We will be running a Parent Information Evening on Thursday January 16 at 5:30 p.m. for those interested in finding our more about the program.  Parents can also visit our website: Sports Academy or call the school for more details.  Our submission deadline is February 7, 2019.

P.A. Day will take place on Friday January 24, 2020.  There will be no school for students on this day.

Summer Literacy and Math Programs: We are looking forward to hosting Summer Literacy and Math programs at HWDSB Schools.
