Police Checks for School Volunteers

Huntington Park wants to remind everyone that all police checks for those who have volunteered in the past have expired.  Due to Covid, there was a two-year gap in service for volunteers which means we must re-build the database with updated police checks.

If you are hoping to be involved in the school either volunteering for special events or to attend and chaperone on future class trips, it would be wise to be proactive and get a police check as soon as possible.  The application for a police check can be found on the Hamilton Police Service website at hamiltonpolice.ca  –  Simply click on “Get a Background Check” and then click on “Vulnerable Sector Check.”

Once you receive your police check, you can bring it into the school office and we will add your name to the approved list.

As there is sometimes a long wait for the police check, we advise you to apply for it well in advance of any school function where you wish to volunteer or any class trips.
