Welcome Back!

Hi All,

Return to in person Learning on January 17, 2022.  School begins at 8:40 a.m.; school is completed at 3:00 p.m.

We are looking forward to having our students returning to in person learning next week.  As we prepare for this transition, I would like to share some updated protocols for our return.

Screening:  Families are required to complete the Covid 19 symptom screener each day before your child attends school.  All students from Kindergarten to grade 6 have been provided a student agernda.  Please initial this student agenda every day.  Students in grade 7 and 8 will be completing the online screener every morning with their teachers.  It is imperative that you do no send your child to school if they are symptomatic.  If they are symptomatic, please refer to this COVID At Home Protocol-01-05-2022 for next steps.

Returning Devices: Parents who have borrowed devices for their children during school closures are asked to return devices to school on Monday morning.  Please label the device, charge cable and block with your child’s name so that we can record the device as being returned to the school.

Remote Learning: Our parent portal is open from January 13^th-20^th for parents wishing to switch their children to Remote learning for the remainder of the year.  This will be the only opportunity given for switching to remote.  Any requests for changing to remote after the portal closes on January 20^th, will not be granted.

Temporary Excusals: We recognize that some families will not feel comfortable returning their children to in person learning for the next few weeks.  HWDSB is offering a Temporary excusal to families who wish to keep their children home until Covid cases have settled.  Should you wish to have your child temporarily excused from school, please connect with the school office to request a temporary excusal form.  Students who are temporarily excused from school for a short period of time will be given access to asynchronous learning through the following link:
