School Council Executive

Hi All,

We had our first School Council Virtual Meeting last Thursday.  The following people are your Executive Council:

• Co-Chair – Sasha Pivarnyk
• Secretary – Natalie Rendall
• Treasurer – vacant

Here are the highlights from the meeting as we await for the next meeting to approve the minutes.

Ventilation:

• Unit ventilators will begin to be installed on or about October 25.
• Two classes will be done at the same time.
• It takes approximately 5 days to complete the installation.
• Classes that will have their unit ventilators installed will be relocated to two empty classrooms.
• 20 new unit ventilators will be installed
• Presently we have High Efficiency Particulate Absorbing (HEPA) units have been provided to schools in accordance with Ministry direction in all classroom and administrative spaces.

Fundraising is on pause.

Treasurer’s Report:

• School Council = $8,742.91
• Fundraising = $5224.36
• Pizza = $4,043.25

Program:

• Goal #1 Grades 7 to 12+
• Improving the graduation outcome for all students and closing the gap for those historically underserved.
• Target: At least 80 per cent of students within each cohort making progress towards graduation/graduating*.

• Goal #2: Grades K to 6
• Improving the reading achievement of all students and closing the gap for those historically underserved.
• Target: At least 75 per cent of students within each cohort on track as an effective reader.

Our next meeting is yet to be determined.
