Weekly News April 15

Hi All,

If you are interested in participating in the Special Education Advisory Committee, please see information here: Joint SEAC Apr 24

School Council Members:

We’re in the home stretch and our students are busy with assignments and school activities.

I am reaching out to the school councils at Sherwood Secondary and the feeder schools hoping to have an opportunity to come and introduce myself and my Department to your members. As the Manager of Communications and Community Engagement, it is important to me to ensure the HWDSB is providing our parent councils the information and resources they need to be successful.

The goal I have for this informal get-together is to have a conversation and exchange of ideas to see how my team can best support your efforts. Some areas we may want to explore are HWDSB channels available to the council to promote special events, student engagement in the community and communication tools the HWDSB uses to pass along information from our community partners.

I have reserved space at Sherwood Secondary on Thursday, May 2 from 7:00pm to 8:30 pm. If your schedule allows, please come for coffee and a conversation about how the Communications and Community Engagement Department can enhance our relationship with your Council.

Please RSVP to Zora Field ([email protected]) with your school name and how many members of your school council will be attending as my middle name is ‘doughnut’ and I have a reputation to maintain!

School Closed:

  • Friday April 19 Good Friday
  • Monday April 22 Easter Monday
