Semester 2 Exam/Final Evaluation Schedule

Attention Parents/Guardians of Orchard Park Students:

The end of the semester is fast approaching.  Please find attached the Semester 2 Exam/Final Evaluation Schedule: SEMESTER 2 FINAL EXAM MEMO FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS

Important Notes:

  • Teachers will determine the evaluation activities occurring during exam days based on their professional judgement in relation to the needs of their students, the subject, and the course.

Activities may include:

– Exam

– Credit Rescue/Student Success activities

– Culminating tasks

– Grade 9 EQAO Math Assessments

– Performance tasks or methods, or another method of evaluation suitable to the course content.

  • All students are expected to attend on the exam days to complete a final evaluation and must remain in their class for at least 75 minutes. Attendance will be taken.
  • Final evaluations on June 20-25 start at 8am.
  • If you are in a grade 12 course in period 3, 4 or 5, the teacher will communicate with the students about the start time of the exam on June 18 & 19.
  • All courses will have a final evaluation.
  • In the event of a serious illness that prevents students from attending, parents/guardians should call the Main Office and contact the teacher via email. Medical notes will be required if a student misses a final exam.
  • If students have an IEP, they should speak to their teacher and/or LRT in advance if they would like to write their final evaluation(s) in Learning Resource (in the LC).
  • There is no school for students on June 26, 27 or 28 (unless there is inclement weather and the exam make-up day is needed on June 26).
  • Buses will run on their regular Schedule (the cafeteria will be open for students who are waiting for transportation and staying all day). If students are not waiting for transportation, they are encouraged to leave the school immediately following their exam/final evaluation.
  • Please move quietly through the halls as some classes may be running longer exams/activities.
