Some Final Reminders – Happy Holidays

As we head into the two-week winter break, we would like to wish everyone Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.  For those families celebrating Christmas this week, we wish you a safe and enjoyable celebration.  A reminder that our school office will be closed during the break and will re-open on January 3.

When to Use the Rapid Antigen Screening Kit – For students who choose to use rapid antigen screening kits, it is recommended students conduct the rapid antigen tests every 3-4 days over the holiday break, every Monday and Thursday, until all five tests have been used.  Rapid antigen screening kits are only to be used when a child is asymptomatic. Anyone with symptoms or who is identified as a close contact with a case should still get PCR testing.  RAT-School-Letter-HWDSB-Dec-8-2021.pdf

Notification of Covid 19 Cases – Over the break, families will be notified via school messenger if Hamilton Public Health has determined their child to be a close contact with a positive case.  Otherwise, general notifications will be posted on the school website and HWDSB Confirmed Cases Dashboard.

Return of Active Daily Screening – Families are reminded that confirmation of daily screening will return in the new year.  Be sure to use the COVID-19 school screening (ontario.ca)  This link always contains the most current and up-to-date screening guidelines for schools.
