Mary Hopkins News – Sept 13

Good Afternoon,

Welcome to the 2020 2021 School Year.  We are excited to welcome our students back to school beginning tomorrow using the staggered start schedule.

Bell Times – 9:10 am – 3:30 pm

Monday, September 14 – Students A-K
Tuesday, September 15 – Students L-Z
Wednesday, September 16 – All Students

Drop Off and Pick Up – When you arrive at the school, we will have pylons indicating your child’s drop off and dismissal location. A map is provided to assist you in finding your child’s classroom area.  Grade 1-5 students will be at the back of the school and our Kindergarten students in the front Mill Street pen. Adults must wear a mask on school property.

Attestation – If you have not completed the one-time attestation, you can do this either through the parent portal, print or PDF form.  Families are also expected to screen their child daily via the parent portal or posted assessment.

Dress for the Weather – There will be lots of outdoor time during the first few weeks.  Be sure to send your child to school ready for fall weather and time outside (i.e. jacket, extra socks, layers).  Both indoor and outdoor shoes will be required as our field can get muddy and wet.

Dismissal Plan – It is important that you communicate your child’s dismissal plan to the homeroom teacher. Dismissal locations will be the same as drop off.  K-3 students must be picked up each day by a caregiver or adult.

Mask Management – The teacher will work with your child over the first week to assist them in managing their masks.  Be sure to send at least two masks, as one may get soiled or require changing throughout the day.

School Plan – Our Elementary Site Specific Plan was posted last week.  Families are encouraged to review it prior to arrival.

We will continue to keep you posted through our website.  Be sure to subscribe if you would like to be emailed directly when news and information is posted.
