November Reorganization

Oct. 27th, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians:

RE: Class Reorganization

This school year has presented unique challenges to Ontario schools, as well as new options for students to learn in-person or remotely.

Each fall, HWDSB reviews elementary student enrolment in schools, and reorganizes staffing if actual enrolment differs from spring projections. It is normal for student enrolment to fluctuate a little.

This year, the fall reorganization is more widespread due to the in-person/remote option for students, as well as the ongoing need to meet provincial class size requirements.

Specifically, at our school, the reorganization will mean:

  • Closing the following classes: 8B Mme Hairston, 6A Mme Montpetit (Martin), 3/4B Mme Daniel and 1D Mme Margariti
  • 3/4A is becoming a straight grade 3 class (3B – Mme Bechard)
  • Mme Margariti is moving to a NEW Grade 3, Mme Long is moving to the NEW Grade 6/7 class
  • Mme Thompson is returning from the Remote School to a NEW grade 4 class (4C)
  • Mme Houshmandi will be joining our staff team. She will be teaching 4A (Mme Lardi – LTO for Mme Amedeo)
  • The following teachers are leaving the school: Manduwa Daniel, Hilary Hairston, Nicole Lardi, Kaitlyn Martin Montpetit, Karlee Terziev. Also leaving due to surplus from September include Tristan Bullard .7, Julie McCluskey, Lindsay MacMaster
  • Mme Anderson has been reduced to .4 at Norwood Park

We apologize for any disruption this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

As always, our team of dedicated educators will work with you to ensure your child is well cared for and experiences educational success.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Rhonda Moules

Principal
