Jump Rope for Heart

Our Jump Rope for Heart Event in May was a huge success!! We had great weather that day and the entire school had fun outside showcasing their jumping, skipping and hopping skills. Thank-you to the generosity of the Mary Hopkins Community, we were able to raise $6,515 for the Heart and Stroke Society. Prize gift cards would have been emailed out the week of May 23 and would have arrived from the email: [email protected] On behalf of all of us, thank-you so much to everyone in helping make this event a continued annual success for Mary Hopkins School!

Track and Field

We were thrilled to be able to run our Track and Field event here at Mary Hopkins after a 2 year absence. Our Grade 3-5 Students did well in competition at school and we are proud to be taking 43 students to the HWDSB Area Meet on June 16th at Mohawk Sports Park. We are looking forward to a great day of friendly competition, sportsmanship and camaraderie as we showcase our running, jumping and throwing skills. Congratulations to all of the athletes…we wish them well as they represent our school this Thursday.

Play Day

We are excited to be able to do an in-person Play Day again this year. For the Grade 1-5 students, this event will happen on Wednesday June 22nd (with a rain date of Friday June 24th). Our Kindergarten Event will be on Tuesday June 21st. Students will be outside for a large portion of the day, so dressing appropriately for the weather is advised. There will also be some “water events”, so having a change of clothes and a towel might be a good idea. Sunscreen (applied before school starts), a hat, and lots of water are also highly recommended given how warm our June days can be. Freezies will be given out that day (Mr. Freeze Brand), so if you do not want your child to receive one, please let the classroom teacher know or send in a substitute. We are looking forward to a FUN day!
