Rapid Antigen Tests – Mary Hopkins along with all HWDSB schools will provide students with one package of five tests during the week of December 13. Tests will be distributed on Monday, December 13 at Mary Hopkins.  Please check your child’s backpack. If a student is absent when kits are distributed at their school, the student can pick this up the next day.  Along with the tests will come a print copy of the linked letter as well as detailed instructions on how to use the test.  This is a voluntary program.  Families can contact their child’s teacher if they do not want a package brought home.  RAT-School-Letter-HWDSB-Dec-8-2021.pdf

Food Drive – Last call for donations to our Food Drive! Monday is the last day that we will be collecting non-perishable food items for those in need. Please send in any donations by Monday (tomorrow)!  Thank you to everyone for their contributions.

Student CensusStudent Census Letter – This is the last week to complete the student census.  To learn more about our students, our board is conducting a voluntary and confidential census. Grade 5 students will complete the Student Census in class, but we are relying on at-home participation for our K to Gr. 4 Students.  The student census form can be found on the Parent Portal.   Print copies are available by request to your child’s teacher.

Daily Screening Attestations – Daily screening attestations will be required again when we return to school in January.  Please use the method provided by your classroom teacher to indicate screening each day beginning January 3.  A reminder will come from the school prior to return, but it may also be helpful to set an electronic reminder or place a note by your exit door.  This protocol is all part of helping to keep our school community healthy and safe.

International Travel – Unvaccinated children under the age of 12 are exempt from federal quarantine if they travelled with someone who is qualified to be exempt from quarantine, based on vaccination status. Regardless of this, they may not attend school or childcare for 14 days upon their return to Canada. Please note that HPHS will treat any positive COVID-19 case who traveled outside of Canada or had contact with an individual who traveled outside of Canada in the past 14 days as a potential Omicron case. As such, they must follow the Province of Ontario’s interim guidance.
