Fall Spirit Day – Mary Hopkins students are invited to participate in a Spirit Day on Friday, October 29th by dressing in fall colours and/or Halloween attire. Students wearing Halloween costumes should opt for a simplified version and leave extra accessories at home.  Students will participate in the full school day in this attire. Food sharing is restricted at this time so please follow your child’s teacher’s guidance around class treats.

Cross Country Fun Run – A big thank you to Mrs. Widdup for spearheading our cross country fun run.  This was a great way for our Grade 3-5 students to put the stamina built during our Terry Fox runs to good use.  Overall our student participants showed great stamina and determination to complete their run with good effort.  Well done students!

News Subscription – From time to time, the Sunday weekly news item does not go out via email to subscribers.  In these cases, news items are still posted on the website, so be sure to check directly on the Mary Hopkins website.

Safe Schools Student Advisory Group – As you may know, HWDSB is taking significant steps to develop a culture without bullying. This involves recommendations found in a new Safe Schools Action Plan. You can help shape better ways to address bullying by joining the student Safe Schools Advisory Group. You will provide advice and feedback on topics like student voice, supervision, character education, and more. This group is open to students in any grade who care about putting an end to bullying. It will involve at least one meeting a month. It’s easy to join and no application is required.
