Mary Hopkins News – Oct 18

Good Evening Families,

Terry Fox – This year’s Terry Fox run was a great success!  Over the past weeks, our students have been logging their distances as part of our Try Like Terry Challenge. Not only have we raise money to support cancer research but we have also met the distance goal we set for our students.   The efforts, both physically during the class runs, and to raise funds and awareness by our students was truly inspirational– undoubtedly channeling the spirit of the great Canadian, Terry Fox.

Photo Day – Thank you to families for your continued patience around planning a Photo Day.  All organizations entering HWDSB schools are required to comply with an immunization disclosure policy.  As a result, access to HWDSB schools by third-party providers was on pause.  We are happy to report that this process is now complete with Edge Imaging and a photo date is set for November 12.

Small Gym – The work to repair our second (small) gym is finally complete!  Due to its poor condition, this gym space has not been available for use for several years.  We are excited to open this space back up to our students starting this Monday.  Thank you to the HWDSB facilities team and the Mary Hopkins School Council for your continued support of this renovation project.
