Mary Hopkins News – Feb 7

Hello Families,

It is with excitement that we welcome our students back to in-person learning on Monday.  Similar to the Fall, this transition brings a lot of mixed emotions.  We will begin this week by checking in on our students’ wellness and reviewing our procedures.

Drop Off and Pick Up – We ask that caregivers wear a mask and limit time on school property to essential business.  Support our staff and students by avoiding any congregating or socializing on school grounds during drop-off and pick-up times. Take your time moving through busy areas to support distancing.

Change in Mask Protocol – Our new board protocol requires students to wear their masks outside when a 2-metre distance cannot be maintained.  This will now require our students to wear their masks during recess play and during many outdoor activities.

Daily Screening – Please remember to complete the daily screening each day with your child.  https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/.  If you answer yes to any question, your child must not attend school.  The screening tool includes the subsequent steps to follow.

Bus Seating – Remind your child, each morning, to sit in their assigned seat on the bus.  This is an essential component of contact tracing and can reduce the number of students required to isolate in the event of a positive case.
