Mary Hopkins News – Dec 30

Hello Families

We are in our final days of 2020 and I know that many of you are starting to think about our return to school. As announced by the Province, elementary students will begin the new year in remote learning (January 4-8).

January 4 – Teachers and DECE’s will be connecting with families, answering questions and assuring that everyone is reading for remote learning.

Grade 1-5 – Families that indicated on their readiness survey that technology is required will have a pick-up time arranged via an email or call.  Pick-up is at the Mill St. doors.

Kindergarten– Families that indicated on their readiness survey that technology is required will be provided with an electronic or print remote program.

January 5 – 8 – Remote Learning.  Parents can expect the remote school day schedule to be similar to our regular school day.  Each teacher will provide a schedule for families. Think about how you can set up a workspace and environment for your child that will maximize focus and learning (e.g. desk, table, dressed and out of PJ’s).  Headphones may be helpful for those with more than one child learning at home.

Visit the following link to learn more about the HWDSB remote learning plan.

More information will be posted by Sunday. Our office will reopen on January 4 and office staff and Principal will be on-site and available via email or phone.  Please reach out if you have any further questions.
