Mary Hopkins News – September 9

Hello Families,

I am sure there is a mix of excitement and anxiousness as we near our return. All the pieces are just about in place for start-up next week.  We look forward to seeing those of you returning to in-school learning.

We continue to work through Parent Portal issues.  Be patient as we will eventually get everyone connected.  We can complete attestation forms in print if this is still an issue on your child’s first day.

When you arrive on Monday (A-K) or Tuesday (L-Z), please proceed to your child’s classroom area.  All kindergarten students will be dropped off and picked up at the front Mill Street playpen. For Grade 1-5 students, look for the labelled pylons on our blacktop and field.  These zones will be similar during recess, where each cohort can play.  Same grade cohorts will be side by side so that students may still have distanced conversations with their peers in other cohorts.

We ask that all adults wear a mask while on our school property.  To allow for distancing, please limit your numbers to one adult per child.

On the first day, students will be provided with individual supplies (pencils, markers, ruler etc) by the school.  Families may send a few extras, however, this is not required.  It is important that you send a water bottle every day as the water fountain will be closed.  Instead, students will be able to fill up at the two hydration stations in the school.

We will continue to post updates and start-up information over the next few days.  Call the school if you have any additional questions.
