Weekly News at Mary Hopkins – March 30

We hope that all Mary Hopkins families are doing well.  The students are on our minds and we miss them greatly.

Although the school closure continues, our staff are back at work. Our focus over the past week and next is on reconnecting with families, establishing work-from-home spaces and identifying technology capacity.

By the end of the week, students and families can expect to hear from a school staff member in order to gather an inventory of students and families that may not have access to a digital device and the internet.  Families are also welcome to reach out to staff via email or school phone. Both means of communication will be monitored regularly.

To better understand what to expect next as we move to the next phase of learning, please review the HWDSB letter distributed on March 26.

For families looking for additional resources to support learning this week, please visit the Student Learning Resources Page. This page contains a list of online resources that have been reviewed by board staff and sorted by grade and curriculum level.

Finally, our board has created a resource to support your child’s wellness during the COVID-19 event.  Please take the time to review the tip sheet as it has many helpful suggestions for parents. SUPPORTING CHILD AND YOUTH MENTAL WELL-BEING DURING COVID-19
