Mary Hopkins Information and News

Labour Updates – As each school board is unique, information will differ from school board to school board.  Be sure to visit the HWDSB’s communication site for updates and information that are specific to HWDSB and our school. https://www.hwdsb.on.ca/about/labour-update/

Meet the Staff Event – Thank you to all the families that came out to our Meet the Staff event and PAC for organizing the Bake and Pumpkin sale.  All funds raised during this evening are designated to support our classrooms and school programs.  Our fundraising plan will be posted by November and is developed with input from both staff and parents.

Nut-Safe School – A reminder that Mary Hopkins is a nut-safe school.  Parents are asked to pack a lunch free of nuts and nut products to assure the safety of our students with anaphylactic allergies to nuts.

Indoor/Outdoor Shoes – For safety reasons, students are expected to wear shoes at all times in the building.  Assist us in keeping the mud, dirt, water and salt outside by sending an additional pair of indoor-only shoes with your child each day. Snow and rain can often lead to some very wet conditions in our schoolyard.  With two outdoor breaks, it is a good idea to leave items such as extra socks, pants and mitts in your child’s backpack in the event they are needed.
