Return Forms
All families have received an envelope with important forms to be completed.  Please return all forms to the classroom teacher as so as possible.

School Council/PAC
Please note a correction in time.  The School Council/PAC meeting will take place on Monday September 23, 2019 at 6:30 pm.  All new and past participants are welcome to attend.

Lunch Lady
The Lunch Lady program will run each Friday beginning September 27.  Parents interested in learning more about Lunch Lady or ordering lunch can do so directly from the website.  http://thelunchlady.ca/

Meet our Reading Specialist – Mrs. Hayes
We would like to welcome a new teacher to the Mary Hopkins school community. Julia Hayes is the Reading Specialist assigned to our school this year. As the Reading Specialist, Mrs. Hayes will work directly with children in Kindergarten and Grade 1 classrooms, as well as staff, to support reading acquisition and respond to student learning needs.

We are currently seeking volunteers from the community who have a vulnerable sector check and would be willing to commit to working with students to help them improve their reading skills. Training will be provided.  If interested, please leave your name and contact information with the office.

School Cash
We wanted to notify our new JK/SK families that you may not be able to register for School CashOnline until your child is assigned an OEN (Ontario Education Number).  If you have been unable to set up an account, it is likely for this reason.  We ask that you try to register again in a week or two.  If you continue to have difficulty, you can call the school office for assistance.

Morning Kiss & Ride
A reminder that a morning Kiss & Ride is available for our Grade 1-5 student from 8:55 am – 9:10 am.  If you plan to use the Kiss and Ride drop off, please be patient and allow for one vehicle drop off, at the gate, at a time.  We ask families to review the Kiss and Ride information sheet for sate procedures.

Courtesy Bus Riders
We thank families for their patience around courtesy bus rider requests.  You will be contacted early this week to confirm approval.  Do not put your child on a bus until you have received this approval, as we need to notify the transportation department prior to your child riding.

Meet our Trustee

Hello Parents, Guardians and Caregivers!

My name is Penny Deathe and I am your School Board Trustee representative for Ward 15.

As a school board trustee, my role is to maintain a focus on student achievement, well-being and equity and to participate in making decisions that benefit our board’s entire jurisdiction while representing the interest of my constituents.   I look forward to visiting our schools and seeing all of the hard work that is taking place by students and staff.

I’d invite you to reach out to me to introduce yourself and share any positive feedback or concerns you might have about the schools in our ward.

I can be reached by email at [email protected] or by phone at 289-339-8455.
