Start Up News and Information

Overall it was a great start-up for our students. A big welcome to our new staff and students. We are pleased to have you join us at Mary Hopkins and hope that you felt welcomed by our community.

Kindergarten
Our Kindergarten classes officially begin tomorrow (Wednesday). We have been growing over the summer and as a result, have added a 5th classroom. Welcome to Mrs. Cobb and welcome back to Mrs. Hone who will be the co-educators in our new classroom.

Agendas
An agenda will come home with all of our Grade 1-5 students.  In addition to keeping track of dates, agendas are a great way to communicate with your child’s teacher or the school.

Envelopes and Forms
On Thursday or Friday, students will be bringing home envelopes that contain a variety of forms, as well as information verification.  Please complete and return all necessary items, as it is important we have up to date information.

Medical Information
For students with known medical conditions, forms will be sent home for completion (e.g. allergies, asthma, diabetes).  If you do not receive a form but have information to share, please contact the office or your child’s teacher.

Dismissal and Entry
To assist with a safe dismissal and assure that our youngest students are well monitored, all grade 1-5 students will be dismissed to the back playground where teacher supervision is in place.  At the end of the day, the front will be reserved for Kindergarten and bus student dismissal.

Finally, a big thank you to those who cleaned up our gardens over the weekend.  It was truly appreciated by all who were able to enjoy the new fall plantings this morning.
