Commencement Celebrations 2026
All grade 12 students in the class of 2026, regardless of their graduation status, are invited to this year’s commencement celebrations. Please take some time to review the information below. We are still updating information as we receive it.
Commencement Ceremony
Date: Tuesday, June 23, 2026
Time: 4:00 pm
Location: First Ontario Concert Hall (Formerly Hamilton Place), 1 Summers Lane, Hamilton
Fee
The commencement fee is $85. This fee helps defray the following costs:
- Cap & Gown (students keep both items)
- Venue Rental
- Decorations
- Class of 2026 Lunch, being held on June 2nd
The fee is paid via School Cash Online. The deadline to pay the commencement fee is the end of February. If you are unable to pay via School Cash online, please get in touch with Ms. Morrison in Student Services.

Financial Assistance
Money should never be a barrier for students to participate in school events. Should families require financial assistance, please contact Mr. Gregoriou in Student Services.

Caps & Gowns
When families pay the commencement fee, using school cash online, you will be asked to select your gown size. Please ensure that you have paid your fee and selected your gown size before the end of February. Caps and gowns will be distributed at the Class of 2025 Lunch. Questions about caps and gowns should be directed to Ms. Morrison in Student Services.

Commencement Packages
Commencement packages will be available for pick up at WDHS in August between the hours of 8:30 am and 1:30 pm. These packages will contain: the photo taken by Edge Imaging (at the commencement ceremony), a class composite (for those who opted for graduation pictures through Edge Imaging), a diploma/certificate (for graduating students), an official transcript, and any awards the student may have received.
Valedictorian
The Valedictorian nomination form is available in the Guidance Class on the HUB (see the news announcements). The deadline to submit a nominee is TBD. Voting to select the valedictorian will take place at the Class of 2025 Lunch.
