Outbreak Designation and Confirmed Case of COVID-19 at Tapleytown

Hamilton Public Health Services (HPHS) notified Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) today of a positive COVID-19 test result at our school.

To protect the individual’s privacy, we do not disclose their name.

An outbreak has been declared. According to COVID-19 Guidance: School Outbreak Management, an outbreak in a school is defined as two or more lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in students and/or staff (or other visitors) in a school with an epidemiological link, within a 14-day period, where at least one case could have reasonably acquired their infection in the school (including transportation and before/after school care). If you are tested for COVID-19, please inform the lab that this is outbreak #2237-2021-47017.
