Principal’s Corner: Fall trips, Volleyball, Swim team and upcoming events

Good afternoon Norwood Park families,

Happy Friday! It has been a busy month at Norwood Park. Student Council organized our first Spirit Day of the year. It was great to see so many students wearing Norwood Park colours today.

Our School Council’s Fall fundraiser Fresh from the Farm was a big hit. We look forward to the vegetables and apples being delivered to the school in early November. Thank you for supporting this initiative.

The fall trip season has begun with the primary students visiting Merry Farms and Dyment Farms. Two of our junior classrooms enjoyed hosting a potluck this month. We appreciate all of our parent volunteer who help make these initiativess a success.

Volleyball has started up for the year. While our gym is under construction, practices are being held at the Westmount recreation centre. Special thanks to our coaches Mme Bernal, Mme. Collins, Mr. Bullard, and Mlle Morgan for their dedication to our team for the early morning practices and Mme Montpetit for assisting at the games.

Our junior swim team practices are continuing. Thank you to our swim team coaches Mme Bernal, Mme DeSourdy, Mme McCluskey, and Mr. Schneiderman and our parent volunteers for walking with our team to the pool and helping our students prepare for the swim meet in the afternoon of November 5th.
