McMaster University’s Faculty of Engineering – Robotics Ontario District Competition

On March 21 and 22, 2026, McMaster will host a FIRST Robotics Canada Ontario District Competition, where 30 high school teams from across Ontario will compete with robots they designed and built themselves. The competition brings together engineering, creativity and teamwork as students tackle this year’s challenge, REBUILT Presented by Haas, while working toward qualifying for the provincial and world championships.

The event is free and open to the public and offers a great opportunity for students to see how STEM skills are applied in a real competition environment. Visitors can watch live robot matches, explore the competition environment and see how students use science, technology and teamwork to design, build and operate their robots. For students interested in engineering, robotics or technology, it’s a chance to see what these fields can look like in practice.

More than 2,000 students, families, volunteers and visitors are expected on campus throughout the weekend.

If possible, we would greatly appreciate your help sharing this event with your school community. This could include circulating it through your newsletter, website or social media, or posting a printed notice on a bulletin board so students who may be interested can attend. I’ve attached a flyer that you can share through your channels.

More information about the event, including schedule and location details, can be found here: https://www.eng.mcmaster.ca/first-robotics/

Thank you for helping us connect students with this exciting STEM event.
