Grade 8 Graduation Information Email

Good morning Grade 8 students, parents and caregivers,

The email below was sent to Grade 8 parents yesterday, but we are aware of an issue with SchoolMessenger and not all grade 8 families received the email. Please see the original message below:

Hello Grade 8 Families

Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this time. This is a follow up to the Principal message on the website from last week. It clarifies some details about grade 8 graduation. As you know in person grade 8 graduation is cancelled. As part our recognition of graduating Grade 8 students, the school will be creating and sharing a commemorative video/presentation with congratulatory messages from the Principal and teachers, as well as reading aloud the names of graduating students and acknowledging those who have received awards.

The video will be shared on the Hub and HWDSB credentials are required to access it. Recipients will be discouraged from sharing the video with people who would not normally attend the ceremony. Posting publicly, including social media, is prohibited although it is important to know that HWDSB cannot guarantee that recipients will respect this requirement. Parents/guardians who do not want their child recognized as part of the commemorative video should contact their child’s teacher by Monday June 15th, 2020.

As well grade 8 students who are interested in delivering a Valedictorian speech should fill out the online form (shared by their teachers today). School Council is accepting emails from students who feel they should be considered for the School Council Grad Award. School Council Grad Award is given to outstanding leaders who daily promote a positive school climate. Deadline (by email) to School Council is Friday, June 12th, 2020. Email: [email protected]

If you have any further questions please reach out to Mme Dube or M. Bozic.

We will continue to provide updates on the school website and HWDSB website.

Kind regards

Mme Moules & Mme Milinovich
