Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We deeply value the important role our volunteers play in supporting student success and fostering a strong, inclusive school community. As we prepare for the 2025–2026 school year, we warmly invite parents and caregivers who are interested in volunteering at École Norwood Park to begin the application process.
Please note that new policies are now in place regarding volunteer screening. To begin any volunteer activities at the school, all applicants must complete the following steps:

Apply for a Vulnerable Sector Screening through the local police force

Please complete and submit the following forms. Paper copies are available for pickup in the school office if preferred.
2. Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) – HWDSB-Specific
A VSS must be obtained through your local police service and must be specific to HWDSB.

VSS documents from other organizations (e.g., sports teams or community groups) cannot be accepted.

This document remains the property of the volunteer but must be presented to school office staff before any volunteer work begins.
3. Offence Declaration – Annual Requirement
After submitting your initial VSS, an Offence Declaration will be required annually for the following two years.
A new VSS will be required every three years, in accordance with HWDSB policy. We encourage all interested volunteers to begin the process early, as VSS processing times may vary depending on your local police service.
