June 9th, Childcare Professional Development Day

On June 9th, 2023, the city of Hamilton will be hosting a professional development day for the staff of childcare programs from birth to 12 years of age. This full day of learning is part of a workforce strategy related to the attraction and retention of employees in this sector.

As a result, all full-day programs for children from birth to 3.8 years of age and all before and after-school programs for children in kindergarten to grade six will be closed for the day.
Communication of this closure is the responsibility of the childcare operator in schools, but it will be helpful if you can share this closure message with school staff and parents as reminders in your regular communication updates.
