News and Events
Nutrition Policy – Did you know that all schools in Ontario are required to follow the Healthy Schools: Food and Beverage Policy. As part of this policy, schools are allowed up to 10 “special-event” days throughout the year, where they are exempt from the standards. At Mary Hopkins, Valentine’s Day is has been allocated as one of our special event days for classrooms who may be having celebrations. We do still encourage families to consider healthier options (e.g. fruit, popcorn) if sending in a treat. As always, families are reminded not to send any items that contain nuts, as we are a nut-safe school.
Bullying Prevention and Intervention Review Panel – Earlier this week, a bulletin went out notifying community members of feedback opportunities for the review panel. If you are interested in contributing your input, the details regarding the sessions can be found at www.hwdsb.on.ca/safeschoolsreview.
