Dear Families of Kanetskare,

We are SO excited to announce a Book Drive and Fundraiser dedicated to growing a first class Novel Studies program and updating the ambiance in the Library Commons!

This event is running from Tuesday February 18th – Friday February 21st.

It is a goal at Kanetskare to build a Novel Studies program for EACH classroom. This program would ensure that students have many options when it comes to storytelling and supporting imagination and literacy. In addition to this, we have a goal of building a General Interest section in our Library Commons where many of the popular book titles and series would be available for reading and enjoyment.

There are TWO ways you can help!

1). Please considering donating through School Cash Online towards our Novel Studies program. Every dollar you donate will go directly towards buying books. Any leftover donations will go towards purchasing new furniture and signage in the Library Commons to make this room even more comfortable for our students. Donations over $20.00 are eligible for official tax receipts.

2). Consider donating gently used or new books for our General Interest section in the Library Commons. We are looking for books that appeal to a tween market. Titles like:  Big Nate, Babysitters Club, Percy Jackson, Wings of Fire and Smile are all great examples of Chapter Books or Graphic Novels that our students tend to enjoy. We will be running a friendly competition between classrooms to see who can collect the most books for donation towards this great cause. The winning classroom will receive an ice cream party!

We are asking donated books to come to school with students the week of February 18-21.
