Human Rights Virtual Sessions

In celebration of Human Rights Day 2025, the HWDSB Human Rights Office (HRO) is hosting two virtual information sessions for students and parents/guardians in HWDSB. The sessions will provide an opportunity to familiarize students and families with their rights and responsibilities in schools. They will learn about:

• Human Rights as Everyday Essentials
• The Ontario Human Rights Code and how it applies in upholding students’ rights in schools
• What the HWDSB Human Rights Office is and how it operates
• The Board’s Human Right Policy, Complaint Resolution Procedure and reporting
• What constitutes discrimination and how to report and address human rights concerns in
schools
• System navigation supports for students and families

The virtual sessions will be offered through HWDSB’s Teams Channel. Questions and comments will be moderated. Registration is required for attendance:
